ACC Program

Rock Developments has entered into a strategic partnership with Helshon College Academy in Sweden to bring the ACC program to Egypt. This comprehensive educational and training initiative is designed to equip Egyptian youth, especially those with limited opportunities, with essential personal and professional skills. The ACC program embraces an innovative learning model that fosters empowerment and emphasizes education’s role in enabling young people to become influential and active members of society. This partnership supports Rock Developments’ ongoing commitment to social development and youth empowerment.

The Memorandum of Understanding was officially signed by Eng. Parthena Doss, Board Member of Rock Developments, and Peter Landgren, Educational Director of Helshon College Academy in Egypt, with Katja Beksir, a key coordinator of the ACC program, and senior leaders from both sides present at the signing ceremony.

In her remarks, Eng. Parthena Doss emphasized Rock Developments’ belief in the power of education as a catalyst for social and economic transformation. She stated that the company’s investment in the ACC program aligns with its strategy to develop youth capabilities, fostering well-rounded individuals through a blend of theoretical learning and hands-on experience. The program, which spans six months to three years, is designed to build confidence, self-awareness, and a strong sense of responsibility in youth, preparing them for real-world challenges.

“The ACC program draws inspiration from the Scandinavian folk high school model, and it perfectly complements Rock’s strategy of supporting impactful community initiatives,” Doss added. “It reflects our dedication to offering educational opportunities to deserving youth, contributing to the creation of a new generation that can make a real difference in society.”

Doss also highlighted how Rock Developments’ support has significantly enhanced the program’s scope, increasing its reach to more young people, especially those facing barriers to similar educational opportunities.

Peter Landgren, Educational Director of Helshon College Academy in Egypt, shared the unique approach of the ACC program, which is rooted in a “learning by doing” methodology. This allows students to acquire practical skills while cultivating critical and analytical thinking. Core subjects such as Arabic, English, Mathematics, History, Geography, Science, and Vocational Education are integrated into a hands-on project, enabling students to apply academic knowledge to real-life scenarios.

“The primary focus of ACC is on self-development,” Landgren explained. “It’s about building self-confidence, enhancing personal growth, and instilling a strong sense of responsibility towards oneself and society. The ACC environment promotes not just academic growth but also psychological and social development.”

He further explained that the program’s commitment to small class sizes — with a maximum of 16 students per class — creates an optimal environment for interactive and collaborative learning. This format enhances the overall learning experience and allows for more individualized attention.

Landgren also expressed his satisfaction with the steady growth of the program, noting that its impact is becoming increasingly evident. He credited Rock Developments for playing an essential role in providing critical educational tools, particularly as the program primarily targets students who face financial challenges.

Katja Beksir, a key figure behind the ACC program, explained how the program’s unique approach goes beyond traditional education. “ACC encourages students to express themselves and draw from their personal experiences, fostering an environment that promotes both personal and intellectual growth,” Beksir said. “We’ve seen remarkable transformations — students who were once shy and withdrawn have gained the confidence to speak in front of an audience. That’s the real power of education.”

She also noted the program’s immersive learning environment, which includes agricultural activities and direct interaction with animals. This approach plays a crucial role in breaking down psychological barriers and broadening students’ perspectives.

Rock Developments, the real estate arm of El Batal Group for Investment, oversees a portfolio of residential and commercial projects in both Egypt and Canada, all branded under “Rock.” Their projects include Rock White in New Heliopolis, Rock Yard in Sheraton, Rock Eden in 6th of October, Rock Capital 1 in the New Administrative Capital, Rock Vera and Rock Gold Mall in the Fifth Settlement, and Rock Ville in Obour.

This partnership with Helshon College Academy exemplifies Rock Developments’ commitment to fostering sustainable social impact and creating lasting opportunities for Egypt’s youth.
